The Twigs bowl emerges as a fragment redefined, an object in flux, transformed from twigs to polished, sublime artifact. Through a branching sequence of digitization, algorithmic manipulation, and re-materialization, this work transcends its biological origin. The chrome-like finish evokes an unnatural allure, erasing traces of the twigs’ organic past and situating it in a new, synthetic reality.

Reflecting both the allure and emptiness of mass-produced bootleg artifacts, this work gestures toward a culture where the boundaries between original and imitation dissolve, and creation becomes a shared act, blending human and machine agency. Here, “branching” is both process and rupture, tracing a journey from raw material to commodified object and destabilizing notions of utility, beauty, and value. As a primitive form re-envisioned through industrial processes, the “Twigs bowl” embodies a paradox: a relic of nature rendered hyperreal, part of a lineage shaped by technology’s ambiguous authorship and inviting us to reconsider what makes an object truly real.
